night operation. All lighting shall be deviation-instrument panel lighting red (@.620) and shall be
externally controllable. By a change of panel, the unit(s) shall be compatible with either a nominal
28 volt dc or a nominal 5 volt dc/ac (400 Hz) console panel lighting bus.
3.7.14 ICS switch. The HOT MIC/VOX ON/NORM/ICS OFF switch shall be a rotary 4
position switch.
3.7.15 Monitor switches. The integral monitor switch/level control shall be a
combination push-pull (on-off) switch and rotary potentiometer. The switch shall be configured
such that depressing the switch will activate that monitor line and pulling out on the switch will
inactivate the monitor line. Minimum volume will be achieved at full counter-clockwise rotation
of the potentiometer and maximum volume at full clockwise rotation.
3.7.16 Interface wiring. The assignment of interface connector pins shall be as specified
in Table I. All radio and interphone audio inputs and outputs of the unit are designed for balanced
operation with respect to signal ground, using twisted, shielded pair wiring. The unit shall be
designed so that a single transmit-receive set unbalance occurring in the system wiring (audio
lows shorted to ground) will not deleteriously impact on the operational and isolation integrity of
the unit.
